At Alchemy our aim is to design timeless pieces that transcend seasons and bring you confidence with every wear. Our silhouettes combine soft fabrics with adjustable features to produce a fit that tailors and moulds itself to your body. 

 

Fabric Sourcing

Alchemy was founded in 2020 but began it's journey a few years prior as a second-hand clothing business. After discovering the beauty of keeping clothing in circulation, we wanted to do the same with fabric. This is the origin of our name Alchemy.

 

Our suits are primarily made from deadstock fabrics and otherwise from materials with recycled fibres. Deadstock fabrics are excess and leftovers from their original purpose; by utilising these fabrics instead of commissioning new ones we are actively reducing waste and contributing to a more sustainable fashion industry. The nature of deadstock makes each Alchemy suit unique; our collections are limited – once the fabric is finished that suit won’t be made again.

Manufacturing

We’re committed to creating clothing that will be timeless in design and quality. Our suits are made in a small factory in East London, working with skilled seamstresses who share our dedication to quality and sustainability. Last year we launched a dress collection, made in Cape Town, a second home to our founder. We are proud to support both the British and South African Textile Industry. We firmly believe that the quality of our workplaces translates into the quality of our clothing. We regularly visit our factories, maintain a close relationship with them and are proud to call them part of our team.
